I have to confess, I was actually a little surprised when I jumped onto the scale on Saturday...because I ate more chocolate than usual during the week. Maybe my lentil soup had some unknown slimming properties!? Anyway, I'm very happy of course. I haven't been that light for about 3 years (and still 0.9 kg away from my goal).
I couldn't believe the figure, so I took a (crooked) photo of the scale. I also took some measurements and compare to my last ones (from a few months ago). To be honest I don't feel any different from last week, so it motivates me even more to watch out for what I eat...to make sure it wasn't just "water loss".
Anyway, that means I've lost 4kg since October 2011, without dieting or working out like a pro. Simply by eating a little bit of everything (even the good stuff but in moderation) and being naturally active. Basically, after the initial loss (when I did my 4 weeks of Hypoxi and reduced my carbs intake) the only thing I have removed from my "diet" is the weekly binge on biscuits.
The positive thing is that I fit again in my expensive tailor-made suit! Hooray!
"Blogging moments": highlights of the week
1) Two of my posts were very well received this week, which I am very pleased about.
Thank you to everyone who have left comments or share on FB & Twitter.
If you missed the posts, here are the links
Again, you are welcome to Pin my photos from France on Pinterest if you like them.
2) On a less positive note, I dealt with my first unhappy reader this weekend, following the publication of my "controversial" article about Victoria Beckham's comment. It's been a very harsh and unpleasant experience, the angry reader was obviously very upset and kept sending very aggressive emails/blog comments/FB comments for 3 consecutive days (I've even got threatened of legal action!).
I feel that the whole drama wasn't justified, especially after I apologised for any offences I may have caused and proposed to remove the post. I guess it's part of being a blogger, you'd always come across people that don't agree with what you do or say.
Btw, If you have personally felt offended by this article as well - or any others, please drop me an email, I'm open to constructive feedback.

What I'm reading this week

Skinny Bitch: Book of Vegan Swaps, by Kim Barnouin
Released on 21st February 2012, this book is a must-have guide for the vegans.
What is it about?
With so much conflicting information out there, it's not always easy to make the best vegan choices. In Skinny Bitch Book of Vegan Swaps, the author Kim Barnouin takes the mystery out of following a plant-based diet. It's a comprehensive, user-friendly guide that tells you what foods look healthy, but actually aren't.
The book offers exciting and tasty alternatives and I recommend it to everyone from omnivores trying to add more plant based foods to their diet, to newbie vegans trying to find subs for their old favorites.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteJust a quick note to say I love your blog and I think 99.9% of readers do too :-)
I read the comments from the other post and I think it's quite strange that she got so upset (particularly when there were much more opinionated pieces written on the topic, such as this: http://www.tenminutemag.co.uk/victoria-beckham-i-represent-38-of-the-average-british-woman/ )
Anyway, you handled it well.
Keep up the good work :-)
Thank you for your comment, valuable feedback and for you support! I have to be honest, I was absolutely devastated on the weekend (not just by the blog comments but also by FB comments and emails - all from the same person). I love blogging and positive messages like yours make up for the bad experience. Merci! Ps: thanks for the link, it's pretty good! haha
