Christmas is approaching...reminding me of what my beloved boyfriend gave me last year: a Nike+ Sportband...such a subliminal MESSAGE, wasn't it!?
I was excited to have a gift under the tree. The box shape was the size of a jewellery box, hence I got my imagination wandering...
...until I opened my gift on Christmas Day and discover:
Luckily pink is my favourite colour. To be fair, I wasn't sure how to take it, after 4 years of love, this was my only Christmas 2010 gift.
Never mind, it's actually a very useful gift, and I absolutely love it (now).
What is it?
This amazing device allows you to track your distance, pace, time and calories burned during your runs/walks. With a sensor in your shoe and Nike+ SportBand on your wrist, you're ready for a better running (or walking) experience.
You then connect to nikeplus.com to log runs, track progress, set goals, review last run data, weekly run data, and total kilometers.
When you log into the application, you plug your little USB adaptor (which is attached to your wristband, the watch-like part), it gives you dashboards and graphs like these:
Personally I find the fact to have my run/walk data recorded VERY motivating & encouraging. The program also offers free coaching program.
Nike+ Walk to Run - 12 weeks training program
I tried the Nike+ Walk to Run 12 weeks training program last year and it was GREAT.
I had never run or exercised before and by sticking strictly to this training, I got myself fit and able to run 30 min with no troubles by the end of the 12 weeks.
Nike+ would be a great Christmas or Birthday gift!
